Peace Corps Final
For my final Topics of Illustration project I had to create a poster for the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps. I decided to create a tattoo and take pictures of people wearing them. My final product is above.

In 1598 Michel de Montaigne wrote:
"There is nothing more notable in Socrates than that he found time, when he was an old man, to learn music and dancing, and thought it time well spent."

Alright, since this free text friday didn't really have a SPECIFIC quote, I went off of what was written:
"11/11/11... World War I ends on this day, in 1918. "At the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day, of the eleventh month..." How might you commemorate this day with an image? Do a little research- why was it called "The War to End All Wars?" What visual symbols remain, to this day, that serve to remind us of World War I?"
and found a poem that helped me find the mood I was looking for in the piece. Here is the poem:
“Move him into the sun —
Gently its touch awoke him once,
At home, whispering of fields unsown.
Always it woke him, even in France,
Until this morning and this snow.”

"Olive oil has been more than mere food to the peoples of the Mediterranean: it has been medicinal, magical, an endless source of fascination and wonder and the fountain of great wealth and power. The olive tree, symbol of abundance, glory and peace, gave its leafy branches to crown the victorious in friendly games and bloody war, and the oil of its fruit has anointed the noblest of heads throughout history."

RAAB PRIZE: Chicken Parade WIP
The chickens and everything are in place and so is the layout. Trying to see if the fox and the fence look correct. It feels like it doesn't because it's shot with a very crappy camera. We'll see.
